Abstract:

B3G networks will be more complex and will provide more diverse services than the current 3G systems. These also induce higher requirements to the analysis and estimation of spectrum requirements for B3G systems.ITU-R WP8F is developing a methodology for the analysis of spectrum requirements for B3G systems.This paper introduces the general procedures of B3G spectrum requirement analysis in details, especially the algorithms for system capacity requirement calculation. This paper also studies and compares three different methods to measure the resources used by each circuit switched service,which is to be determined in spectrum requirements analysis.
