Abstract:

Though it is an undisputed fact that VoIP is more and more popularized, the opinions have always been diversed and confused with regards to VoIP's user groups, scale of use, and its applications. For this reason, after observing international links of China Telecom for a long period of time, the author has accumulated large volume of valuable data, and has discovered that H.323, SIP whose scale has already approached the same as traditional telephone are still the main protocols for VoIP and are mainly used for communications at work, while Skype is preferred for individual communications.
