Abstract:

Fixed-satellite service earth stations and space research service earth stations parameters in the 8 400~8 500 MHz band were introduced. Then the interference from fixed-satellite earth stations to space research earth stations was examined and the required separation distances for protection of space research earth stations were calculated. For the protection of space research earth stations, both the non-geostationary-satellite and geostationary-satellite systems using maximum equivalent isotropically radiated power spectral density values allowed per“Radio Regulations”were covered. The result shows that required separation distances in the range from 542 km to 582 km around near-earth space research service earth stations would need to be established in order to meet the protection criteria of the near-earth space research earth station.
