Metaverse is an inevitable product of the development of Internet, artificial intelligence, privacy computing, blockchain, virtual reality and other technologies to a certain stage. It is a complex virtual world and digital world that are parallel to and mapped to the real world under the accumulation of emerging technologies. It is also an important technical foundation and new business form for the development of multiple applications of massive data in the future society. In the virtual world of the metaverse, the degree of digitization is much higher than that of the real world. The spatial structure, scene, subject, etc. outlined by digital technology are essentially in the form of data. At the technical level, the metaverse can be regarded as the integration mechanism and integration carrier of big data and information technology. Different technologies and hardware are combined, self cycled and constantly iterated in the "realm" of the metaverse.
Big Data Research, together with Tsinghua University and Ping An technology, has set up a special issue with the theme of "meta universe big data", which focuses on the core concepts, key breakthroughs, future trends and issues related to industrial applications of data technology in the metaverse.
