Abstract:

In order to provide multi-media services,NGN(next generation network) architecture in which softswitch is the kernel has made many new requests for media server.There exists many architectures of media sever on Internet now,but they can't satisfy these requests.Based on the in-depth study of NGN multimedia service platform,this paper proposes a new architecture for clustered media server which gives a way to solve the problem.The paper describes the architecture in detail and discusses many important design issues in each node of the server.The paper also introduces a prototype system of the architecture which we have implemented in our lab.
