Abstract:

The rapid growth of domestic multimedia applications is demanding the higher multimedia transport and processing capacity of the network.In view of the performance bottleneck of traditional client/server architecture,a new domestic multimedia network system based on peer-to-peer is proposed.The functional architectures of the system is described,as well as the service process.Moreover,the advantages and disadvantages brought by peer-to-peer technologies are comprehensively analyzed.In the end,the prospective development of peer-to-peer technologies in domestic multimedia applications is overlooked in the perspective of users,operators and manufacturers.
