Abstract:

Coordinated multi-point (CoMP)technology can improve both the cell-edge user performance and the system throughput and has aroused widespread concern and study.Studying on CoMP should be based on a certain network architecture, but current central network architecture and distributed network architecture have larger CoMP delay and higher complexity. This paper presents an improved distributed network architecture which adds centralized control logical entities on the distributed network architecture, compares CoMP process of the three network architectures based on the same node selection and resource allocation scheme. Results indicate that the proposed network architecture can simplify CoMP process as well as reduce CoMP delay and implementation complexity.

Key words: CoMP network architecture, central network architecture, distributed network architecture, improved distributed network architecture
