Abstract:

In order to extend the network life, decrease symbol error rate(SER)and optimize the performance of cooperative communication system which without direct transmission link, optimal relay selection algorithm based on receiving signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and network life is proposed.Network lifetime is converted to the ratio of the energy left and the power of the relay node when the destination reaches the receiving threshold SNR since direct treatment for the network lifetime is not feasible.First, the receiving SNR at the destination for each relay is calculated.Putting the relay in the candidate relay set when its receiving SNR is greater than the threshold SNR.Then calculating and sorting the joint optimization function values for each candidate relay, and the relay who has the biggest value is the optimal relay. The up and low bound of the system SNR are derived and the simulation value is consistent with the theoretical value. At the same time, the simulation also verified the case that the network life is extended on the base of lower SER.
