Abstract: Trustworthy networks will be an important trend of the research on network security and quality of service (QoS) provisioning. In this paper, we firstly present QoS routing model based on traffic classification to support the deployment of trustworthy networks. It consists of the components such as dynamic configuration of security/QoS policies, accurate traffic classification in real-time, packet marking, automatic traffic regulation and control, queue scheduling mechanism, and QoS routing. Thereof, elaborate scheme of intelligent traffic classification is investigated and proposed to facilitate the model. The traffic classification system is characterized as high accuracy, low computational complexity, scalability, early detection, and robustness by leveraging the advantages of various classification approaches. It is, therefore, expected to be used in the context of real-time traffic classification.
