The Internet of Things (IoT) is a collection of devices, sensors and computing capabilities that enable intelligent command and control across vast regions in an automated manner, where data is generated by large-scaled devices and often sent to a centralized system for processing. Therefore, for IoT scenarios,it is important to have an efficient way to collect data at low power, transmit them in very short time, process them in close to real time, and send back the results of this processing. The main data problems in IoT are investigated, and the data entities are organized to form a network, coined as the Internet of Data (IoD),which has huge potential in data-intensive applications. To better understand IoD,the basic concept and main challenges of IoD are also stated.Meanwhile,to provide more detailed understanding, some feasible techniques that can be used in IoD are also explored, like big data, data mining and artificial intelligence, which are all hot research areas and have been studied extensively in recent years.

The high transmission rate characteristic of millimeter wave (mmWave) technology can meet the requirements of large amount of data communications among intelligent devices for indoor scenario. While guaranteeing high throughput, reducing the interference simultaneously in a closed region is still a challenge. For indoor transmission, the human bodies are considered as main blockages besides common blockages. Thus,a new system model is presented, constructing the human body into a self-blockage model, while using multi-ball LOS link state model to describe the conventional blockage. The combination of the two will give a more comprehensive and accurate expression of indoor obstruction. The proposed model uses stochastic geometry to analyze system performance by giving a closed expression of coverage and rate. The simulation results show that the model is accurate to describe the distribution of blockages via the comparison between analysis and Monte Carlo simulations.

The oversaturated state of the intersection is mainly manifested as the queuing vehicles are not completely dissipated at the end of a green light phase. In order to cope with the traffic congestion, the mathematical model of an intersection is built. The relative regularity of arrival rate and departure rate of vehicles are analyzed.Through the analysis of the mechanism, the modeling of single-phase intersection,two-phase single intersection and four-phase single intersection are studied. The established oversaturated intersection delay model can be used to assign the green time of each intersection by calculating the minimum delay to alleviate the oversaturation condition of the city road.Numerical simulation results verify the validity and availability of the modeling method.
