Capacity Study of MIMO Technique for High-Speed Train Communications

Abstract:

In this paper, the performance of MIMO systems for high-speed train communication systems was investigated. For a train-to-trackside channel with strong line-of-sight(LoS)component,a specific antenna geometry was adopted to optimize the channel capacity at the cell-edge which achieve sub-channel orthogonality. Numerical result proves that the investigated scheme achieves significant capacity gain comparing to conventional MIMO antenna settings.
